Mahadev Online Betting App: From Juice Shops to ₹200 Cr/Day Success Story
In a startling revelation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has uncovered a jaw-dropping financial empire built on the foundation of the Mahadev online betting app, which rakes in a staggering ₹200 crore per day. This case has recently ensnared notable Bollywood figures, including Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Kapil Sharma, and Hina Khan, who have been summoned for questioning regarding money laundering allegations tied to the Mahadev betting app.
While Ranbir Kapoor has requested a two-week grace period, it remains uncertain if Shraddha Kapoor will make an appearance before the ED today. The summons in this months-long investigation has cast a spotlight on the online betting giant – Mahadev Online Book (MOB).
Chandrakar-Uppal Duo: The Prime Movers in the Online Betting World
Behind the scenes of this alleged money laundering operation are the masterminds, Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, who orchestrated their illicit activities through the online betting world. MOB’s influence extended from its UAE headquarters to countries like India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Pakistan, with the probe agency issuing non-bailable warrants and lookout circulars against these Chhattisgarh residents.
Juice & Tyre Shops: The Modest Beginnings
Remarkably, just a few years ago, Chandrakar and Uppal started their journey with humble beginnings. Chandrakar operated a juice shop in Nehru Nagar, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, while Uppal owned a small tire shop. Their lives took a dramatic turn when they ventured into the world of gambling, as reported by NDTV.
Together, they embarked on a journey to Dubai, where they met a Sheikh and a Pakistani national. This fateful encounter led to the establishment of the Mahadev online betting app, marking the beginning of their meteoric rise to fame.
Making ₹200 Crore Daily
The Enforcement Directorate reveals that Chandrakar and Uppal established approximately 4,000 panel operators across India, each managing 200 customers placing bets. This colossal network allowed them to amass an astounding ₹200 crore in daily earnings, showcasing the extent of their empire.
Hefty Fees Paid to Celebrities Through Dubious Transactions
The scandal takes a more intriguing turn as prominent celebrities from Bollywood, singers, and comedians come under the scrutiny of the probe agency for their involvement in the lavish wedding of Sourabh Chandrakar, the co-promoter of the Mahadev online betting app, in Dubai. Agency sources indicate that some of these celebrities might be summoned as witnesses in the ongoing money laundering investigation.
As per the investigation, the celebrities who performed at the wedding were paid exorbitant fees through questionable transactions. The stars reportedly received a whopping ₹40 crore from the betting platform’s promoters to attend a lavish party at a luxurious seven-star hotel in Dubai, scheduled for September 18 this year.
The investigation further reveals that private jets were chartered to transport the wedding party’s family members from Nagpur to the UAE. Moreover, celebrities were hired for their performances, while wedding planners, dancers, and decorators were sourced from Mumbai. Hawala channels were allegedly used to facilitate cash payments for these services.
This unfolding scandal shines a spotlight on the underbelly of the glamorous world of online betting and its high-profile connections. As the ED’s investigation deepens, more revelations are expected, leaving the nation captivated by the Mahadev online betting app saga.
