Shikhar Dhawan Divorce

Shikhar Dhawan Divorce: Court Approval and Son’s Access

In a surprising turn of events, Indian cricket sensation Shikhar Dhawan divorce has officially divorced his wife, Ayesha Mukherjee, as confirmed by the Family Court situated in the Patiala House complex in Delhi. This marks the end of a decade-long relationship that had its share of ups and downs.

The court’s verdict, delivered by Family Court Judge Harish Kumar, acknowledged the mental distress caused to Shikhar Dhawan due to years of separation from his only son. In his divorce petition, Dhawan detailed instances of mental cruelty inflicted upon him, which the court accepted without opposition or defense from Ayesha Mukherjee.

However, it’s worth noting that the court refrained from issuing a ruling on the permanent custody of their son. Instead, it granted Shikhar Dhawan the right to meet his son both in India and Australia for a reasonable duration, in addition to video call interactions.

For visitation purposes, Ayesha Mukherjee has been instructed by the court to bring their child to India, including overnight stays with Dhawan and his family during at least half of the school holidays throughout the academic calendar. The court stressed that Shikhar Dhawan, renowned as an international cricketer, has not only rights as a citizen but also responsibilities as a father. It emphasized the importance of the child’s right to spend time with his father and extended family.

At 37 years of age, Shikhar Dhawan has faced challenges in his cricket career, failing to secure a spot in the Indian team for the ODI World Cup. His personal life now takes center stage amid these professional struggles.

The story of Shikhar and Ayesha’s relationship began when Dhawan came across Ayesha on the Facebook friend list of fellow cricketer Harbhajan Singh. It was love at first sight for Dhawan, who sent Ayesha a friend request. Their initial conversation on Facebook blossomed into a deep connection.

Notably, Shikhar Dhawan is ten years younger than Ayesha Mukherjee. The couple got engaged in 2009 and tied the knot in 2012. While this was Shikhar’s first marriage, Ayesha had previously been married to an Australian businessman, which ended in divorce. From her first marriage, she has two daughters, Reya and Alia, aged 21 and 17, respectively. Shikhar and Ayesha have a son named Zorawar, whose future arrangements now rest in the hands of the court’s visitation orders.

This development in Shikhar Dhawan’s personal life has captivated fans and followers across the nation, underscoring the human aspect behind the cricketer’s life beyond the boundary ropes.
